Jack Tyley: Head Coach of 10th Planet at Diesel AK Woolwich

Meet Jack Tyley, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, elite submission grappler and head coach of 10th Planet at Diesel AK Woolwich.

We are proud to introduce Jack Tyley, the head coach of 10th Planet at Diesel AK Woolwich. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and elite submission grappler, Jack brings high-level competitive experience and a clear, energetic coaching style to every no-gi session.

Jack Tyley competing in a no-gi grappling match

Jack is a core instructor at 10th Planet London. He trained under Head Coach Jamie Scott, who received his black belt directly from 10th Planet founder Eddie Bravo. Alongside Jamie and Sean Harper, Jack has taught both fundamental and advanced no-gi classes while helping to coach the competition team.

A 10th Planet approach to no-gi grappling

Jack’s game is built around the creative, submission-focused 10th Planet system. His teaching draws on advanced leg entanglements, rubber guard and truck positions, always with an emphasis on understanding the route from control to a decisive finish.

That does not mean the details get skipped. Whether you are taking your first no-gi class or preparing for competition, Jack’s sessions are about building useful fundamentals, learning how positions connect and developing the confidence to attack with purpose.

Proven on the competition mats

Jack’s results reflect the standard he brings to coaching. He won the Grapple Worlds 75kg Championship on 5 July 2025 against Ruben Enjily, then successfully defended the title at Grapple Worlds 2 on 28 March 2026. In recorded Professional Grappling Federation (PGF World) league victories, he has maintained a 100% submission finish rate.

His record includes standout wins across major promotions:

  • A Kimura submission of Nathan Jones at Polaris 23 on 11 March 2023.
  • A kneebar submission of Peter Shamarkou at Polaris 24 on 3 June 2023.
  • A decision win over Jorge Valladares at Grapplefest 11 on 26 February 2022.

Jack has also tested himself against some of grappling’s most exciting names, including ADCC Champion Mica Galvao at Honor Submission Challenge #1, and competed against Harry McKnight at Grapplefest 15. Most recently, he entered the Cash Absolute division at the Leicester Grappling Series on 6 June 2026.

Looking ahead

Jack is scheduled to face Archer Colaco at Grapple Worlds 3 on 7 November 2026. Until then, the Diesel AK Woolwich mats remain the place to learn directly from a coach who competes at the sharp end of the sport and loves passing that knowledge on.

Come down to Diesel AK Woolwich and join a 10th Planet session with Jack. Expect intelligent no-gi grappling, a welcoming room and plenty of opportunities to improve.
