Career timeline

Joined the UFC on short notice and earned a reputation from a competitive losing effort against Jack Della Maddalena on debut.
Has not competed since November 2024 because of injury, and had no bout scheduled through the following period.
Accepted a 12-month suspension from Combat Sports Anti-Doping after ipamorelin, a prohibited peptide hormone, was found in an out-of-competition sample collected on 20 March 2026 in Las Vegas.
Hafez announced the suspension himself before CSAD published it, saying he had obtained the product from a wellness clinic while recovering from surgery. CSAD found he did not intentionally use ipamorelin to gain a competitive advantage.
The ban runs from 20 March 2026 to 20 March 2027.

Fight craft

Hafez is a durable, high-effort welterweight who has consistently been more competitive than the odds suggested — his UFC debut against a future champion is the reference point. He works at a hard pace and is difficult to discourage. With a record just above .500 and a long layoff, though, the honest summary is that his ceiling at UFC level has not been established, and the injury and suspension have cost him the most important years for finding it.
