Alibi Idiris: Kazakh UFC flyweight — record, TUF 33 run and anti-doping suspension.
Background
Kazakhstani flyweight from Aktau, a three-time Naiza FC flyweight champion and three-time Kazakhstan pankration champion. His professional record is 10-1 with one no contest.
Career timeline
- Competed as a flyweight on The Ultimate Fighter 33, reaching the final with wins over Furkatbek Yokubov and Roybert Echeverria — including a flying-knee finish.
- Lost the TUF 33 flyweight final to Joseph Morales at UFC 319 on 16 August 2025, submitted by triangle choke at 3:04 of round two.
- Fought Ode Osbourne at UFC Fight Night 267 in Houston on 21 February 2026 and won — but the result was overturned to a no contest after he failed an in-competition drug test.
- Accepted a 12-month suspension from Combat Sports Anti-Doping for hydrochlorothiazide, a prohibited diuretic and masking agent. He said he had taken a product containing it to help make weight. The ban runs from 21 February 2026 to 21 February 2027.
Fight craft
Idiris built his regional record on aggressive, finish-oriented flyweight fighting, and his TUF run showed genuine creativity — a flying knee is not the finish of a conservative fighter. The Morales loss pointed to the gap: against a technically superior grappler he was submitted, and his defensive jiu-jitsu is the clearest area needing work. With one UFC result and that result vacated, his form at promotional level is essentially unestablished.
In the modern MMA landscape
Our wider MMA analysis lists Idiris in its anti-doping table and the details are accurate. The consequence the table does not mention is arguably the most significant one: his only UFC win to date was overturned to a no contest, so the suspension cost him both time and his sole promotional result.
